Welcome to FRUSTIX!

FRUSTIX is a Linux OS which is distributed in an ISO image.

You can burn it to a CD (443 MB) and place it in your CD drive. Booting from this CD gives you a complete basic Linux with some apps and some games.
You don't need to worry about a harddisk, because it runs fine without one and doesn't touch it, if there is one.
If you need to save new created data, you can eject the FRUSTIX CD and use UDF formatted CD-RWs.

So if you wanna test it, then download it!

After resetting your computer and / or taking off the CD, you can run your previous operating system from HD again (if there already was any, before?).

The philosophy behind FRUSTIX is, to have an OS, I can take with me, wherever I go.
So think of the situation:
Being at a friends place for example, or in a school or an university and need to do something. If there aren't the apps I need or if I have no account, then I can still do my work, by just placing the CD in an appropriate drive and boot from it.

That's all!!! :D

For doing this, I have placed only the apps in the ISO, I really need. So it's not like KNOPPIX for example, where you don't have >> one << browser, >> one << Wordprocessor or >> one << Notepad, no you have many to choose from!
Generally spoken this is not bad, of course. But I only use one program from each group. So why putting all the others in my ISO, too ?

FRUSTIX is never meant to please all people in the world! Please always keep this in your mind, before mailing me about including new apps!!

Of course, FRUSTIX isn't in it's final stage. I plan to add automatically graphics card setup, 56k modem support and other things, too. But for the first version, I think it's o.k. for now.
I handle the version numbering of FRUSTIX in a different way, like others do. So I'll give each version the release date, but no version number.
